1) Installation

(edited by Rollo): no extra installation needed. FQM is incorporated into the Devnull Mod.

2) Using the Mod

(edited by Rollo): just select one of the FQM maps during the game setup.

NOTE: it is recommended to use good (large) starting planets, when using FQM maps to avoid 'homeworld weirdness'.

3) Description

This mod makes alterations to the system types in SEIV. It adds many more moons in orbit of planets, and many of these moons will have random atmospheres. Also, solar systems now generally have an asteroid belt in them, which is more realistic.

To use the new systems, simply create a quadrant. The basic quadrants are also included for convenience. They are labeled as "Classic" quadrants.

The files modified in this mod are only used when the map or savegame is created. So, the game host of a PBEM or PBW game could create a map using it, and the players would not have to have the mod installed.

4) Version Updates

1.13 July 27, 2002
- Altered the abilities for Asteroids. Lowered the number of damaging asteroids; added shield disrupting, shield adding, combat sensor interfering, ecm interfering asteroids.
- Increased the number of System Names. Now, there are 12305 names in SystemNames.txt. If you do not like this file, there are 3 alternative files, SystemNames-Real.txt, SystemNames-Tolkien.txt, and SystemNames-Trek.txt, which can be used instead. Rename SystemNames.txt to SystemNames-Old.txt and then rename one of the other 3 files to SystemNames.txt.
- Slightly decreased the number of "empty" system types in most quadrants.

- Added Sparse and Dense versions of these Quadrant types: Cluster, Galactic Edge, Spiral Arm, Threaded Spiral, Grid, Super Grid, 
- Updated the HTML help document.

- Added and HTML help file, which explains the various Quadrant types.

1.10 July 5, 2002
- Added Sparse and Dense Quadrants.
- Added random abilities to Normal Stars.
- Added Random Movement ability to Star Clusters.
- Reorganized Quadrant Types.
- Revamped the Standard Star Systems. Now, they range from 1 Planet to 12 Planets. This completely changes the balance of planets from previous versions.

- Added Old and Star Heavy quadrant types.
- Added more abilities to Warp Points, Storms, and Asteroids.

- Added more moons to planets.
- Added Quadruple Star Systems and Star Clusters.
- Added ruins that do not yield any techs.
- Added Threaded Spiral, Super Grid and Newborn quadrant types.
- Added Binary Star Systems with Asteroid Belts.
- Altered the stats of various moons.
- Revamped Trinary Star systems.
- Revamped the Newly Formed star system.

- Added 3 new Asteroid Belt systems that have belts at radius 3 instead of 4.
- Added a Double Asteroid Belt system, with 2 belts. 
- Added a Newly Formed system, with few planets, many asteroids, and many storms.

The original release of my modpack.
- Added a copy of each default system type named "Realistic [quadrant]" that includes the changes.
- Added many more moons, many of which are of random atmosphere type.
- Added the modifications from the Proportions mod to the new system types added in Gold that normally do not do anything.
- Standard star systems have Asteroid belts around them.
